Course Content

This event is for non-teachers who nevertheless organise programmes where there is an element of learning, for your users, members and/or colleagues.  It aims to demystify the process of learning (especially informal learning, which is high on the policy agenda) and boost understanding of what can be achieved.   It will offer some insight into priorities, jargon and expertise of the learning and skills sector, but remain rooted in the third sector ethos and culture.

We will cover:

· What makes an activity a learning activity?

· Useful ideas to help people learn

· A practical framework for planning and running informal learning

· When learning is “formal” – the pros and cons

Come prepared to think, be challenged, share your experiences, and support and learn from each other.  Expect to leave with more confidence, some useful ideas to put into practice, and increased ability to talk about the learning you offer to funders and policy makers.
