Working with People with Multiple Needs

Date

Wednesday 01 December 2010

Course Tutor

DR DENISE BARULIS

Clinical Psychologist

Course Content

One of the most challenging client groups to work with are those people with a number of different needs. These may include mental health problems, alcohol / drug misuse, learning difficulties, physical health concerns and criminal justice issues.

This one day course will enable participants to:

  • understand what ‘ multiple needs’ means and why it is different from the earlier ‘dual diagnosis’ definition
  • share models of good practice
  • detail local resources and explain the difficulties in accessing traditional services
  • provide some medical background to the issues
