Course Content

 

This one day course aims to give an overview of relapse prevention and harm reduction techniques for people working with drug misusers. It will also cover overdose prevention, and how to impart safety measures to service users.

Participants will:

  • Examine ways to assist service users in maintaining treatment gains through effective interventions
  • Learn about evidence based tools and theories relating to relapse prevention
  • Discuss preventative measures and harm reduction techniques
  • Explore risk factors around accidental overdose
  • Examine prevalence of drug related deaths, and procedures to be followed in overdose cases
